Catching Up...

With the lack of internet connection and the abundance of new roommates coming and going, I haven't done a very good job of keeping up. But I have been shooting! Here's whats been happenin...

Another hike with Brendan. I wanted to take him on the Ka'au crater hike. One of my favorite hikes thus far. A hike not to be missed.

I took B back to Maunawili Falls to do some more jumping...

We got invited to our neighbor Uncle Tuley's niece's birthday party. An incredible night, and a great chance to be with real Hawaiian ohana (family).

My bicycle got stolen, so I'm left with this. It gets the job done.

Uncle Tuley and 3 of his daughters.

Ala Moana surf spot.

Kimo. Our local surf instructor from day 2.

Rinse off.

Happy running child.

Beautiful leather workers.

Purse making tools.

Sight was limited when we attempted the "Stairway to heaven" the first time so we wanted to hike it from the backside trail as opposed to hiking up the stairs and back down. We couldn't have asked for any better weather and we never got lost. A great success. Another one of my favorite hikes. I wish that Brendan and Erika could have been there.

Valley.

That guy!

Dangerously windy summit ridges.

Distant view of the summit of the stairway. Atop, sits a bunker from WWll. The two satellites were used to communicate with submarines out in the ocean.

A closer look at the bunker. The tiny room with the open doorway is where Brendan, Erika, and I hid from the rain and howling winds at 4:30 am while waiting for the sunrise.

Satellites. View from top of the bunker.

Say no more.

Old pulley system to get soldiers and materials up the mountain. No longer in use.

Kona.

While drinking and such late night at Adair's apartment, I decided to experiment with night time photography. I WILL be getting more into this.

Another go at the crouching lion hike. Adair and Ashley hadn't been. We decided to take a different route down. Definitely worth it!

Unforgiving ridge hikes. You don't get too many mess-ups.

Plant life.

No Toms today.

Diamond Head Beach. Where the frenchman show their colors.
