Tunnel Vision.

Erika and I set out for the day to hike a trail called Makapu'u, in which case we couldn't find and ended up at the Koko Head shooting rage. We we very close to the Koko Head Crater hike so we decided to do that instead.

The summit of Koko Head was used in WWll as a radar facility. Too steep for automobiles, soldiers and ammo were taken to the peak in old railroad carts. The carts to take Erika up were gone, so people are left to hike the steps in between the tracks. 1050 steps to be exact. But the views are well worth the work.

Gun Range : Who needs a gun this big? Seriously? Intense though.

I thought this was myself for a minute and quickly remembered that I didn't handle any firearms that day. Great shirt though.

Cacti : Usually only found at the highest points of the island.

Underground tunnel at the top used in WWll.

A few photos from the iPhone.

Very "Goonies-esk" part of the hike. Railroad with quite a drop through the tracks.

A Little of This...

Just got home from yet another hike. Hit shuffle on my Itunes library. Amy Seeley came on. Decided to play her entire album through. If you dont know her, check her out.

I've been on the move, so I'm a few days behind here. Forgive me.

Had some time to kill before a hike. Bicycled to the beach/park to play some volleyball and shoot some photos. A lot of my photos are taken from a natural state point of view. I don't always want my shots posed. I've come to fruition that this could come off as creepy to some people, so I always make a point to at least introduce myself to the "subject's" or people in the photos and show and let them know what they are used for. I email many of the photos to the people upon request or often we'll become "facebook friends" and I'll tag them in their photos. Anywho, here are a few shots..

Maunawili Falls. This was a very muddy hike with much rain as we slipped through the rainforest. I fell in the mud, Then I fell off a rock into the water. Toms shoes don't always turn out to be the best hiking shoes. The hike was finished barefoot, but successful.

Finished the night at Adair and Ashley's place. Always a good place to end the night.

Patience

This is Kona. A little lady that Adair and Ashley adopted. Sweet as pie. Word on the street is, she may need a home come September. Perhaps I'll try to adopt?

Ashley and Adair. Not really a pig and Santa Claus. Just costumes. I brought the beat with the spoons.

So good.

Waikiki at dusk...

We met the friends down at Waikiki beach later after the hike. It was the first time I went to the beach in the evening to play. Less people. More fun.

A couple photos that Erika took.

Boogie boarding : much easier than surfing.

And a few that I took.

Ana.

Ana snatched the camera and insisted on taking a photo.
