Day 4 : Things are staying staying at a consistent "incredible" status. We met up with some friends that we had met on the beach the night before. Cupid, as they called him, seemed to take a more dominant role in their group. He's an ex-marine that had been shot, stabbed, and everything else in combat, leaving his heart to rely on a pacemaker. He was full of knowledge and stories, anxious to show us around all the local hot spots of the island; a good friend to have being a newbe. Cupid's first stop on the list was Sandy's Beach, a beach that was said to be a heavy hitter, and it was. "It's a fuckin' neck breaker", he said, and it almost did. The tide was breaking at 16ft on the shore are times. Although I didn't have a boogie board on hand, I decided to have a swim to feel the ocean's strength. More powerful than anything I've ever felt in my entire life, the ocean BROKE me. It broke everyone. Like a washing machine or a tornado, it flipped, spun, swirled, and slammed me the ocean floor and spit me out dizzy, but always running back for more. Truly a wild and incredible first experience with that kind of beach. We ended the night down on the main Waikiki strip as usual, and stumbled upon the most incredible street performers I've ever seen. Music to come soon. Two beautiful women with breathtaking talent. I sat mesmerized for hours..
Cupid. Intense looking, but very friendly, a child at heart.
