Day 5 : A day in the park is what we had. I finally picked up my first surf board, but was unable to play with it today because it needed a leash ( a cord running from the board to my ankle, keeping the board close to me when I get tossed) plug installed. So Erika and I packed out bags and set out towards the Waikiki beach. We set up shop (not really a shop, more so just some towels and water bottles) near the volleyball court where I planned to smooooshe in with the locals. Usually a tough crowd to get to warm up to me, but now that my face is being known more of a resident, rather than a tourist, I'm getting a little more playing time. Its still not the same without the lake crew.
Ventured out on a walk through the park and ran into what I think of as "the Preston and Jess" couple of the island. A young, fun, friendly and crazy about each other couple, who are always in search of new adventures. They had a slack line set up next to their picnic area, and were very surprised that I knew what it was, let alone that I was able to balance and walk a bit on it. We chatted a bit, exchanged numbers and agreed to meet up again soon. Without a doubt, the most friendly people I've met yet.
We hung out until sunset and walked the beach as usual. And then over to the night life strip. Twas a good day on the island.
Streets : Waikiki Strip
A sign I found laying down behind my house. I found a better place for it directly outside of my front door.
Adair ; a new great friend.
(this is slack lining for those who don't know)
Beautiful Beach Park
Two silver dudes and a crazy Japanese tourist. This combo never seises to amaze me.
